Full Island tour

First a word about Nevis… “Niicceee!!!” You will travel to Nevis via ferry (45 mins). Upon arrival to Nevis your tour starts with the charming capital, Charlestown, “lovingly preserved and painstakingly restored.” ** The Museum of Nevis History is the birthplace of Alexander Hamilton, a great American statesman and the guy on the US$10.00 bill. The Nelson Museum chronicles the life and times of the famous British naval admiral who lived and married on the island. The Golden Rock plantation Inn which dates back to 19 century and sits 1100 feet above sea level on the edge of the rain forest, and is also famous for it lobster sandwiches.

You then have a choice of venues to visit, either the Montpelier Plantation Inn, where HRH Princess Diana and the princes William and Harry vacationed, regarded as one of the finest inns on Nevis. It sits on 30 acres of landscaped tropical gardens with breath taking views overlooking Charlestown and St Kitts.

The other option is the Botanical Gardens of Nevis, said to be the finest garden display in the Caribbean! Discover an array of Orchids, rare plants and flowers there.

Newcastle Pottery is one of the stops on the tour and is one of the last survivor of an industry that once flourished on Nevis. The pottery produces red clay pots for cooking and storage, they also produce utilitarian wares like vegetable dishes, tureens, plants pots and ornamental pieces. The process can take anything up to a week from shaping to firing. Goods are exported locally and regionally. Afterward enjoy lunch on the beach just minutes away from the Fabulous Four Seasons Hotel.

Half Island Tour

Sugar Mill at Golden Rock

You will travel to Nevis via ferry (45 mins). You then begin with a tour of Charlestown, the charming capital city of Nevis, which is filled with a plethora of interesting buildings. A highlight is the Museum of Nevis, the birth place of Alexander Hamilton, one of of Americas most outstanding statesman. There is the restored Treasury building and Post office, the Court House,the ornate Williams Grocery Store , and the Horatio Nelson Museum that chronicles the life of one of history’s most famous sailor. The site of the Nevis Slave Market and the Jewish cemetery, all important and famous landmarks that gives great insight into Nevis heritage and turbulent past.

Montpelier Dining Area and View

The tour branches off the main road to Montpelier Plantation Inn, where Nelson met and married Fanny Nisbet, and finally the now renown Botanical garden, a firm favorite among visitors and locals. It spreads over seven acres and is a tropical fantasy of orchid blossoms, vines, water lilies,rare plants and a wide variety of palms. The flora is native and non-native.
